First Blog

I'm here! I really have the feeling I should be doing something else right now, in my "free" time. Miles is watching Hard Hat Harry's space adventures and Ruby is napping. I should be....making dinner, probably. But I'll worry about that later. So, inspired by some blogging friends, and the amazing speed at which my kids are changing, I'm going to try to get some stuff about our family down in writing so our friends and family can check in for updates. 

Ruby is so busy! Too busy for her morning nap today, so she was very tired and fell asleep in the car on the way home from our playdate. Miles enjoyed playing in Emily's backyard, especially since she has a toy lawn mower.  Ruby crawled around on the grass, trying to eat grass and leaves, and seeming to want to join the big kids at times. She also enjoyed crawling on her friend Gavrie, who is 2 months younger. 

She is also learning to pull up so that she can stand on her own two feet! And reach up to pull things down. This sometimes scares her but not as much as you might expect. She just keeps on trucking.  

Miles had school this morning.  We're going to the Pirates game on Sunday with a group of school families. We picked up our tickets and baseball hats (gifts to groups) today. Miles doesn't really know what game the Pirates play (he guessed hockey today) so it should be interesting. He also asked if the hat meant that he was going to get to play.
